Prior to starting Empirical Jack began his career in the treasury division of one of the UK’s leading financial services recruitment agencies. During his time there he went on to manage both the treasury and risk teams. Jack earned several personal accolades along the way including second highest fee earning consultant across the UK business in 2011 and most profitable teams in the Financial Services division in 2012.

Jack went on to enjoy a successful partnership with two colleagues in creating and developing a boutique finance recruiter. Here he built the corporate and professional services treasury divisions which upon leaving were the most profitable in the company.

His progression coincided with the financial crisis in the United Kingdom. During this time Jack watched the treasury and risk divisions of the clients he worked for react as they took on board new, and increased, regulation. As both a service provider and spectator through these years Jack has gained a rare insight. His work has helped a wide variety of clients remain well-resourced and able to fulfil their obligations under amplified scrutiny.

Jack now combines his experiences across the Financial Services and Corporate industry sectors to help clients with Treasury and risk oversight mandates at all levels.

Outside of recruitment Jack has two very different interests, military history and football. Having retired from playing several years ago due to a knee injury, he now has to make do with spectating his beloved Leeds United to get his fix. Now a father of two, Jack has plenty else to occupy his free time.

Andrew joined Empirical a year into it's creation to help with the expansion of the financial services treasury and risk oversight practice. His industry focus sits within financial services, primarily covering banking institutions of all sizes, brokerage firms, buy side, clearing houses, consultancies and the regulator. His experience has developed from recruiting disciplines spanning treasury, risk, finance and front office across geographies of the UK, Europe, Asia and Australia.

By continually managing recruitment assignments from beginning to end, assisting job seekers at the start of their career as well as those who have worked their way up to senior level management, Andrew has been able to forge a reputation in the industry as a go to recruiter for career management advice.

Similarly, when clients have relied on Andrew to recruit into their teams they have been rewarded with an expertise that has been developed from years of servicing department heads including Treasurers, SME functional heads, finance directors & controllers, and business heads within the front office. This level of interaction contributes to Empirical Search’s specialist knowledge of understanding the connection between corporate treasury, the business segments, and the interaction between these functions to achieve best practice balance sheet management.

Outside recruitment Andrew is a father of two and has recently moved to the country after 27 years of city living. Additional to family time he enjoys keeping fit, country walks, attempting to be cultural with National Trust and English Heritage visits, golf if time allows, and if he’s lucky, avoid staying at home for holidays and travel instead.
